![]() ![]() But unfortunately the way HP works you will have to visit the dealer or someone with as TIS subscription, or with EFILive to flash back to stock. Most 06-07 will set the codes when EGR is not flowing but some dont with no rhyme or reason. If the ECM has a standard DSP5 file, you will be able to flash over the top of it with a stock file. Black tape will cover your light from EGR codes, but it also covers it from Turbo codes, temp codes, and whatever elso other codes that may be vital to know Something weird with the way the system detects egr flow problems. After that you will be able to read the tune out and adjust what you want and flash back in. In order for you to be able to tune the locked ECM you will need someone with EFILive to write in a tune that is unlocked. If the ECM was flashed with an "ecm lock" file dsp or single via EFILive then the ECM is truly locked when it comes to flashing or reading. Does the truck have a switch anywhere on the dash or close? If the truck was flashed with a DSP5 EFILive tune you will not be able to read the tune out of the ecm. Most likely the ECM was locked with an EFILive tune. Or does anyone on here have a PPE 225 (or better) tune I can look at for an LBZ Duramax? Found one in the repository but its "modified for an LMM" and I'm not sure how to 'unmodify' it for my LBZ - so I'm not opposed to either of these options too.īut am curious why it wont let me read the tune in the truck - would it fail like this if the tune was done with EFILive and not a programmer? Went to my other truck with the hypertech tune in it, (tune still in the truck) and was able to read, save, and view the tune just fine.Īny ideas why it wouldnt work and how I can get the tune out of it? So then I set the ECM to "not read" and to only read the TCM for the trans - worked fine. I have the MVP Pro - the green light was on, and when I select "read" in the pop-up window it says it 'failed' to read the ecm and gives an error code: (see pic) So I thought "hell, I have the truck hear, I know the tune is awesome, why dont I just download it, make a copy, and stick it in my truck?!" - closed the scanner, opened the program to write the tunes (forge the name - but the one with the wrench lol) and then went try and read the tune.no dice. So I connected my laptop and HPT to it to do some data logging to just check injector balance rates etc - worked fine. My other truck has a mystery tune - bought it blown up, fresh engine, and now it runs.like a raped ape! SOB MOVES!!! Shifts at about 3600-3800, uses turbo as exhaust brake, and has a nice rumble at idle. So I have (2) 2006 LBZ Duramax's - one of them I just have a hypertech programmer on and a shift kit, fun but could definitely be more. ![]()
